REC Transmission Projects Company Limited (RECTPCL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) Limited. Ministry of Power have appointed RECTPCL as Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) for carrying out bidding process of major Transmission Projects (Inter & Intra State) in the country through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding route by inviting bids through Global tendering. RECTPCL commenced working as BPC in the year 2007 and was awarded its first transmission project in the FY 2010-11.
Till date RECTPCL has successfully completed the Bidding Process of 32 (Thirty-two) EHV Transmission Projects consisting of Transmission Lines up-to 765 kV and GIS & AIS Substations with estimated Project cost of approximately Rs. 47387 Crore (USD 6,910 Million). Bidding Process of 9 (nine) Transmission Projects (Inter & Intra State) with estimated cost of Rs. 11,324 Crore (USD 1,617 Million) is under process.
With the perspective of good governance, and keeping in line with the “Digital India” initiative of Government of India, ‘TARANG’ (Transmission App for Real Time Monitoring & Growth) Web Portal / Mobile App has been developed by RECTPCL, under the guidance of Ministry of Power. TARANG is a powerful monitoring tool that tracks upcoming transmission projects and monitors the progress of Inter-State & Intra-State transmission systems in the country.
Urja Mitra is an initiative of Ministry of Power, Government of India which provides Outage Management and Notification Platform for dissipating the outage information to power distribution consumers across India through SMS/email/push notifications.It also provides Pan-India integrated Mobile Application for Android and iOS platforms to enable citizen to access outage information for Distribution.
To get a complete picture of the entire distribution network in country and to ensure achievement of “24 x7 Power for All” vision of government of India, it is essential to capture real time supply parameters of rural India and this can be achieved by monitoring the availability/quality of power supply in rural areas of the country by capturing actual distribution parameters - Power supply, outages and conducting feeder wise Energy audit and AT&C losses estimation.
Shri Sanjay Malhotra (52 years), (DIN:00992744) is 1990 batch Indian Administrative Service (lAS) officer of Rajasthan Cadre. He was earlier posted as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power, Government of India. Shri Malhotra is a B. Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering from IIT Kanpur and holds Masters of Public Policy from Princeton University. He has varied experience spanning almost 31 years in the State and Central Governments and UNIDO in various capacities in sectors including power, finance, taxation, e-governance and mines. He has also served as Government Nominee Director on the Board of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited.
Shri t. s. c. bosh Executive Director, REC, & CEO, RECTPCL, Govt of India Enterprise under Ministry of Power, New Delhi, India. Mr. Bosh started his career as Lecturer in Electrical Engineering and has around 30 years of work experience in Power sector. He had worked in varying capacities at senior level in REC, particularly headed State level Programme Offices (Chennai & Patna), Zonal Office (Central Zones - Odhisha, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh) and RECIPMT (REC Institute of Power Management & Training), Hyderabad. Mr Bosh had worked as GM for over 6 years dealing with erstwhile Rural Electrification projects which now subsumed in DDUGJY (DeenDayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana), the flagship Programme of Govt of India. Further, Mr. Bosh had worked as CEO of RECPDCL (REC Power Distribution Company Limited) and for a brief period headed the Corporate Social Responsibility, as well. Mr Bosh had been associated in the mission of Govt of India in the landmark electrification of all census inhabited villages in the country achieved by 28th April 2018 and achievement of Universal Household Electrification by providing electricity connections to all households (26.2 Million Households in a span of 18 months) in the country by 31st March 2019 (except 18,734 households in Chhattisgarh State). Mr Bosh is now associated with Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana – Saubhagya programmes of Government of India and heading RECTPCL.
